KD x Solly’s Cream Soda Is Here

Today’s a big day for one of the brands I advise. KD x Solly’s Cream Soda — the first-ever soda released under the Kraft Dinner name — is officially live.

The product is exactly as wonderfully strange as it sounds: a cream soda with a hint of KD’s signature cheese flavour. It’s a limited edition — available now on Amazon Canada, rolling into participating retailers including Walmart in early October, while quantities last.

“For an independent company like Solly’s Craft Soda, having an iconic Canadian brand like KD believe in us is a genuinely big deal,” said Adin Wener, Solly’s founder (and Solly’s dad). “It’s wonderfully strange — and somehow, it works.”

This is what it looks like when an independent Canadian brand earns its way onto the national stage. Solly’s built its name on craft soda made with real cane sugar — 45 calories, low sugar, a source of fibre — and held onto all of that while making something nobody saw coming. As Kraft Heinz’s Daniel Lundberg put it, soda is “the last place you would expect to find KD.”
